Axillary Hyperhidrosis

Patients with hyperhidrosis often have a considerable psychological strain.  They are often personally and professionally restricted and  avoid social contacts.

Most therapeutic approaches are ineffective or fraught with considerable side effects.
Botulinum toxin is a rather useful and side-effect free alternative.

A small dose of Botox per injection is given into the area of the hairy skin with a distance of about 2 cm. For injection, very thin needles are chosen so that the injections are not very painful. By the toxin, only the activity of the eccrine sweat glands is reduced, the apocrine glands are not affected, that means, creating odor is still possible. The effect starts after a few days (10 days) and usually lasts for several months (usually 4 to 6 months).
